Each evening near the bustling lanes of South Mumbai, the scent of toasted bread and green chutney floats through the air. Behind that comfort is a vendor who, despite daily hardship, keeps serving up warmth one sandwich at a time.
For over a decade, Sunil and his brother have run a small sandwich stall, living and working side by side. Their families live back in the village, while they sleep on the footpath nearby, managing long hours, limited resources, and unpredictable conditions.
Now, the stall itself is falling apart — its structure fragile, its cover worn out. They continue anyway, crafting sandwiches with care. They use tanker water to wash all the utensils and borewell water to make the chutney. But with a new stall, a toaster, a strong umbrella, and most importantly, a clean water source, they could do so much more — safely, hygienically, and with dignity.
“Naya stall mil jaaye, ek toaster ho, ek majboot chhat ho, aur paani ki suvidha mil jaaye… toh hum bhi achhe se kaam kar sakein. Agar Bisleri jaise kisi sponsor ka support mil jaaye, toh aur bhi accha hoga.”
“If I could get a new stall, a toaster, a proper shade, and access to water, we could work properly. Even support from a brand like Bisleri would go a long way.”
Let’s ensure this sandwich stall doesn’t fall apart.
Let’s help build it stronger than ever.
